  • Age requirement:Minimum age for car rental is 21 years.
  • Driving license:The driver must be in possession of a valid Greek or European driving license for 12 months; for licenses not written in Latin letters an international driving license is required.
  • Fines and sanctions:Traffic fines and administrative sanctions due to violation of the traffic code or alcohol and drug abuse during the rental period shall be borne solely by the hirer.
  • Fuel policy:Fuel is paid by the hirer, who is obliged to return the vehicle in the same fuel level in which it was picked up; otherwise the cost of the fuel consumed will be charged.
  • Car rental:The rental period is 24 hours. Any further delay of more than 3 hours will be charged as an additional day.
  • Transportation of vehicle by ship or outside Greece:A written authorization from Drivago Rent a Car is required for the transportation of a vehicle by ship or outside the Greek borders.
  • Payment method:The rental amount is paid in full upon delivery of the car, either in cash or by credit/debit card.
  • Damage caused to the vehicle by driving on unsuitable roads.
  • Incidents that may happen while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Damage caused during transportation of the vehicle by ship or across borders.
  • Accident or damage caused by a driver not declared in the policy.
  • Damage caused to the underside of the vehicle, tires, mirrors and antenna.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancel within more than 10 days prior to the rental and get a full refund (100%)

 

DRIVER’ S AGE

For vehicle categories A, B, J, V2 the driver’s age is fixed at minimum 21 years of age and for all other categories at minimum 25.

 

DRIVING LICENCE

The driver's licence must have been issued at least one year prior to the rental date. The driver must have a Greek, European or International (for non-EU countries) driving licence and must present a valid driving licence covering the full duration of the rental period. The international driving licence must be accompanied by the driver's original driving licence.

 

METHOD OF PAYMENT

If the payment is by card the lessee must present a credit/debit card in his/her name to cover the vehicle's security deposit. Third party cards will be accepted only in case the cardholder is present.

 

RENTAL DURATION

Α. MINIMUM CAR RENTAL DURATION.

The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours), calculated on a 24-hour system (the return time corresponds to the delivery time).

Β. EXTENSION - PROLONGATION OF THE LEASE.

If the lessee wishes to extend the rental period, he/she must contact a representative of DrivaGo at least 24 hours before the rental period expiry and obtain a written approval.

In the event of the lessee's failure to do the above, the lessee shall be liable for illegal use and possession of the vehicle.

In the event of a lease extension, the lessee is bound by the terms and agreements of the original rental agreement and general terms, regardless of whether he/she is given the same vehicle or another in replacement.

 

DELIVERY AND COLLECTION

Α. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION

The lessee is obliged to deliver/return the vehicle to a DrivaGo representative at the time indicated, which may be exceeded by up to one (30) minutes without charge.

Delays of more than an hour from the designated time and up to three (3) hours thereafter will be charged with 50% of the daily rental rate, and delays of more than three hours will be charged as an additional day.

Vehicle deliveries or collections are free of charge (Monday to Saturday 9:00-21:00) at MAKEDONIA Airport. Vehicle deliveries and collections are charged with 15€ for hotels in the city of Thessaloniki. (The above prices do not include VAT 24%)

B. VEHICLE DELIVERY AND COLLECTION BEYOND OPERATING HOURS

Deliveries and collections beyond operating hours are charged with 20€.

C. VEHICLE INSPECTION BEFORE DELIVERY

The lessee is obliged to inspect the interior and exterior of the vehicle before its delivery and in case of damages he/she is expected to indicate them in the damage list in the relevant form.

 

FUEL POLICY

The lessee is obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had upon the vehicle delivery and as stated in the rental agreement.

In case the vehicle is returned with less fuel than it had when the lessee received it, the lessee will be charged the price per litre of fuel consumed, plus the amount of three (3) euros.

In the event that the vehicle is returned with a larger amount of fuel, DrivaGo shall not be liable for any refund.

 

CLEANLINESS POLICY

In case of tar, sea salt, wet seats or excessive dirt inside the vehicle upon collection, the lessee will be charged with the amount of seventy-five (75) euros. The cleaning and dry of the interior or upholstery of the vehicle shall be charged with at least sixty (60) euros.

FINES AND VIOLATIONS

All fines (due to illegal parking, violation of traffic lights or signs, exceeding speed limits etc.) and any violation of the Road Traffic Code found by the competent administrative authorities shall be borne solely by the lessee.

REMOVAL OF TRAFFIC SIGNS

In the event that the plates are removed from the vehicle due to illegal parking or any other violation of the Road Traffic Code, the lessee shall be liable to pay for the days during which the vehicle remains idle.

DAMAGE EXEMPTION

The lessee's liability for damage caused to the rented vehicle can be limited to a minimum amount of 0€ (if it's written on the contract that you sign upon you get the car) or 430€ ˖ 24% VAT (or up to 1500€˖ 24% VAT depending on the vehicle category) if he/she accepts in advance and in writing the Damage Exemption Agreement (clause A.E.Z. or C.D.W.) at 9€ per day (9€/day) for categories A and B, 10€ per day (10€/day) for category C, 12€ per day (12€/day) for category D and 15€ per day (15€/day) for the other categories.

The Damage Exemption Agreement (clause A.E.Z. or C.D.W.) is not valid even if it has been agreed and accepted in the following cases:

- If the hired vehicle is involved in racing, if it is used to tow vehicles (trailers and other towed vehicles) or if it is loaded with objects that exceed the manufacturer's specified strength and capacity characteristics.

- If the lessee unilaterally admits fault in the event of an accident without firstly and immediately informing DrivaGo and the traffic police and waiting for them to arrive at the scene of the accident in order to receive a copy of the traffic police report of offences and incidents.

- In the event of the vehicle being driven or used by a third party who is not declared in the lease, regardless of whether he/she holds a driving licence and his/her relationship with the lessee.

- If the leased vehicle is damaged beyond the duration of the agreed rental period.

- If the lessee drives the leased vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

- If the lessee drives the vehicle in violation of the traffic regulations or in a way that endangers the vehicle, its occupants or others.

- If the lessee drives the vehicle off-road or on unpaved roads.

- If the lessee drives the vehicle for the purpose of transporting persons or objects for a fee.

- If the lessee uses the vehicle for the purpose of committing an illegal act according to the Greek legislation.

- If the lessee uses the vehicle for the purpose of teaching a person to drive. Damage (destruction or loss) caused to tyres, wheels or wheel rims by driving the vehicle off-road or on unpaved roads. or damage caused to the interior of the vehicle (e.g. burning, tearing) is not covered and the lessee will bear the above costs in full amount even in case of a signed Damage Exemption Agreement.

- If repair and damage restoration of the vehicle is required, the lessee is obliged to choose between DrivaGo's partners and the official or authorised dealership in Greece.

 

EVENT OF ACCIDENT/INSURANCE RISK

In the event of an accident or other incident (fire or theft etc.) the lessee or additional driver is bound not to admit his/her fault or to acknowledge any third party claims (not in a direct or indirect way). He/she is obliged to immediately inform the traffic police (or the police) as well as DrivaGo, and to note down the details of any eyewitnesses (names, telephone numbers, addresses etc.).

Furthermore, the lessee is obliged within 24 hours of the accident to complete and sign the relevant accident/theft declaration at the DrivaGo store.

In particular, in case of theft or loss of the car, the lessee is obliged to report the incident in writing at the nearest police authority within 24 hours.

In case the lessee acts otherwise than stated above, he/she will be liable for any damage caused as well as other costs (legal costs, etc.) even if he/she had signed the Damage Exemption Agreement, as he/she will be considered at fault.

 

VEHICLE REPLACEMENT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT

Finally, it is explicitly agreed that in the event of an accident or damage to a company vehicle, DrivaGo will provide the lessee with another vehicle, similar or of another kind according to availability at this specific period.

If the rental fees of a vehicle involved in an accident have been prepaid, they shall not be refunded but shall compensate for DrivaGo's loss of income for the period that the vehicle remains unused or idle as a result of the accident. In all cases the compensation may not exceed one month's rental fees in relation to the vehicle category to which it belongs.

 

ROAD ASSISTANCE

In the event of a mechanical breakdown or a call for roadside assistance, the lessee may contact DrivaGo on a 24-hour basis, and he/she will be informed about the actions required. Roadside assistance is not valid on the islands (unless otherwise stated at the beginning) and the lessee is responsible for the return of the vehicle and charged with the costs involved.

 

TRANSPORT BY BOAT

It is allowed only after written agreement with DrivaGo, otherwise the lessee is considered solely responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle on board and he/she is not protected by any insurance, even if he/she has accepted the A.E.Z. AND C.D.W. exemption clause.

 

CROSS-BORDER TRAVELING

Transportation of the vehicle outside the borders of the Greek national territory is allowed only after the written approval of DrivaGo and after the issuing of a green card, the cost of which is borne by the lessee.
